What is Private Yoga?
In a private yoga class, I create an individual program specifically for your needs and goals. This may include different modalities, including: yoga poses, flow class, breathwork, sound bath.
What are the benefits of private yoga?
There are a so many benefits, but here are the top 5 that you should consider:
Convenience – The ability to schedule a class on your own schedule. Public classes may not always fit your schedule, but you can book a private yoga class at the time that works for you and the teacher.
Customized to your current level – If you are brand new to yoga (beginner) or have been practicing for decades, having a program that is created specifically for you is a great way to reach your goals faster. For beginners, you can learn poses at your pose, ask tons of questions, and feel confident that you are setting a solid foundation. For more experienced yogis, you can work on specific yoga postures or goals in a progressive program.
Keep progressing over time – The biggest downside of public classes is that the teacher doesn’t know what you’ve been working on (specifically), which makes it hard to progress from week to week. In a private yoga session, we take an approach to help you progress and improve in each session. This allows you to see mental and/or physical improvements in areas you want to focus on.
Your preferred space – You get to choose the location for your private yoga session. There are several local studios that we can meet at or we can meet online (no matter where you are located). This can cut down on travel time and make it easier to fit your practice into your schedule.
Freedom to try new things – With the class being created for you, it gives you freedom to try things you may not feel as comfortable in a public setting. You could learn more about pranayama (breathwork), work toward goal poses you have wanted to try, ask questions about anatomy or yoga philosophy, and experience a sound bath with crystal bowls and gongs.
What happens in a Private Yoga Session?
Depending on your goals, here’s what we may include in a session:
- Breathwork & Meditation
- Asana: creative vinyasa flow, yin or restorative Practice
- Key poses for yoga asana (for beginners or to improve the postures)
- MFR (myofacial release) for tension relief, reduction is discomfort
- Performance goals: inversions (headstand, handstands), splits, etc.
- Sound bath (gong, crystal bowls, drum, rain stick)
Or a combination of the above!
Each session is all about you and the goals you have. We’ll work together to create a roadmap and I’ll guide you along the way.
You’ll also receive a downloadable recording of each session, that you can keep and repeat in the future!
