Vega Sport Sugar-Free Energizer Review + Giveaway!

July 25, 2013 By Heather Blackmon

.

Disclosure: I was provided with samples of Vega Sport Sugar-Gree Energizer in exchange for my honest opinions about the products. All opinions are my own.

A little over a month ago, I was getting ready for our long vacation to Australia. Around the same time, my favorite sports nutrition company launched a new product. That means I had to wait a little longer than I wanted to try it, but so far I think it was worth the wait!

Vega Sport Sugar-Free Energizer

Why a new energizer?

For me, I am trying to limit the amount of sugar in my diet (focusing on eating clean), so I was excited from the moment it was announced. Others may wonder why they created a new sugar-free version. And only 5 calories!!

In Vega’s own words, here’s why they created it:

· Provide a natural Vega Energizer that is low in calories
· Intended for medium intensity or 60 minute duration workouts where additional calories or carbohydrates are
not required.
· Perfect fit for yoga, barre fitness, Pilates, or HIIT (high intensity interval training) which is typically less than 60
minutes in duration.
· Healthier alternative to coffee. Many of our consumers use Vega Energizer instead of coffee, during their day.
The sugar-free now gives them a closer option, relative to the calorie consumption.

I’ve been using this before my interval runs as part of LiveFit Trainer and it really seems to make a difference! I feel like I have more energy from the beginning, instead of taking a bit of time to get into the groove.

And check out these ingredients. This is the kind of natural, plant-based nutrition that I love (and expect) from Vega:

Vega Sport Sugar-Free Energizer Ingredients
Instead of strange sugar-free sweeteners, this is made with easy-to-digest Stevia. I’ve become a huge fan of stevia over the past few months, so I was happy to see that this is what they chose to balance the flavors.

Not surprising, my favorite flavor is Acai Berry. I’m just not a big fan of Lemon Lime (reminds me too much of the drinks you get on most race courses). The berry flavors are almost always my favorite with any sports nutrition.

In both cases, we need to protect the land we enjoy on our adventures. And Leave No Trace is one program that helps with that - especially those that have a high rate of degradation through a program called Hot Spots.

I'm excited to be partnering with @leavenotrace and @onxbackcountry to celebrate and preserve all these beautiful outdoor places. And for all of June, $10 of every onX Backcountry membership is being donated towards Leave No Trace’s Hot Spot program. A great way to get access to my favorite backcountry app AND support LNT!

I added a link in my bio if you're interested in learning more, so you can help #ExploreandRestore!

What scares me is probably different than what scares you.

I am admittedly a timid mountain biker - but getting better every day.

I'm afraid to face plant, but still working on crow pose in yoga.

Am I the only one still (basically) living in yoga Am I the only one still (basically) living in yoga clothes?

For at least part of the day, it's just easier to put on yoga pants, sports bra, and a "zoom-appropriate" top. Or a button-up layered over my workout tank. It makes it SO much easier to squeeze in a workout when I have time.

Tell me I'm not the only one who's not going back to work clothes?!

But really, keep your gaze straight ahead to keep your neck safe in bridge (or Setu Bandha Sarvangasana). It's rare that a version of this pose isn't included during cooldown in my classes.

Do you love bridge as much as I do?
