Last month, I mentioned a new natural skincare company I started using recently. At the time, I had only been using their products for a few weeks and didn’t want to jump to conclusions. You probably have had that experience with a new skincare product – it starts off great, but after a month your skin goes back to it’s old ways. For me, that always meant returning to my tried and true, not-natural skin care routine.
I hoped in this case my first impression would stick around.
Disclosure: I contacted nyl skincare about a review and discount after purchasing these products on my own. This review is based on my experience. I only promote products that I believe in and would recommend to any of my friends. As always, all opinions are my own. You can read my disclosure policy here.

I’m happy to share that my first impression was correct in this case – nyl skincare is the real deal! This small business is handmade with all natural ingredients, no man-made chemicals, and only natural preservatives. They even use the EWG’s Skin Deep Cosmetics Database to check all the ingredients and only use those that rank in the “low hazard” range. If you take the time to think about what goes into your body, shouldn’t you think about what goes on your face?
I ordered the nyl Starter Kit to see if I liked the products. The facial products are strange if you’re used to the typical products that foam up as you wash your face. The Organic Chamomile Face Wash doesn’t foam up…at all! It’s a smooth (almost oily, but not quite) liquid that you rub between your hands and then onto your face. It takes some getting used to, as it doesn’t feel like it’s cleaning your face. But it is! And your skin feels fresh when you’re done.
When I ordered the full size face wash, I also ordered the Gentle Rosewater Makeup Remover. When I wear eyeliner & mascara, I needed something a little stronger to help remove those products before washing my face. Similar to the face wash, the texture takes some getting used to, but it’s effective even on my waterproof mascara.
The last thing I ordered is the most expensive, but I think it’s well worth the price. I didn’t use much of the Velvet Transformative Serum when I first got the trial kit, but then I finally admitted I’m getting a little older. I started to notice it in my face and remembered I had the serum in the cabinet. After about a week, I really started to notice my face looked “brighter” and my eyes looked more awake. And my skin is so soft! It didn’t take me long to order a full size version of the serum.
How about the other two products in the starter kit? I am still using them! The lotion is about half gone at this point and it feels great on my hands. The sugar body polish is something I’ve used a few times when shaving and it’s luxurious! It leaves your skin super soft & moisturized, but I plan to use it when I need to get an extra smooth shave or where I am worried about irritation from shaving.
