This month has just flown by – I can’t believe we are in the last few days of April already! The major ski resorts are closed and it’s time to move ahead to warm-weather activities in Colorado. Although I don’t write off the chance of snow until after Mother’s Day.
This month’s favorites is a broad mix of things I’ve found over the past few months – I’ve been saving them up to share with you! 4 out of the 5 are traveling with me this week as I’m on the road, so they truly are things I am loving right now.

FITaspire Favorites: April
1. Yoga Glo ($18 per month)
(top left) If your primary focus isn’t yoga, you may have a hard time fitting in time to get to a studio class. Like me. I also know how much yoga helps my training – it helps me to stay flexible, focus on stretching, and reduces stress. One way I found to help me fit more yoga into my life is YogaGlo (thanks to Christine’s suggestion), which lets me fit in a class from my phone (or computer) when I have time. Perfect when you’re traveling and nowhere near a regular studio. I signed up for a monthly membership to encourage myself to fit in a class more often.
2. White Cheddar Power Puffs ($12 for 3)
(top right) My favorite “chips” as a kid were the Cheetos Puffs. Not a whole lot of real food in those snacks, but man did they taste good. And I loved the texture. When I got a few bags of the Snack Out Loud Power Puffs last week, I was THRILLED to find that they actually reminded me of my childhood snack craving! But this snack is actually Corn Free, Gluten Free, Non-GMO, & Peanut Free. Although I prefer single-serving bag sizes, I would still grab a bag of these at the store. I recommend opening them with a friend nearby to split the bag with you, if you tend to mindlessly much, like me. 🙂
3. Aeonskin – Sport Skincare ($54.95 for 3 bottles)
(middle left) We athletes often have troublesome skincare issues. Especially as women. When Aeonskin offered me a chance to try their skincare program, which was formulated specifically for the needs of athletes and fitness enthusiasts, I was intrigued. They are a cruelty-free company, fully support non-animal testing, and avoid using ingredients that are animal-derived in their products. I was impressed.
After using their line for the last few weeks, I’m even more impressed. While my skin isn’t perfect, I’ve seen some great improvements. My skin feels smoother (which I believe is from the alpha hydroxy acids) and clearer. If you’re looking for a stronger, athlete-focused, skincare line — this is one I was definitely recommend!

4. Spiral Curlers ($13.99 for 10)
(middle right) I bought these on a whim from Jane.com over a month ago and they sat in my cabinet unused for a while. My first trial run a few weeks ago was quite comical, as I watched a YouTube video that made using them look easy — and I struggled to get them in my hair. I tried to dry them with a hair dryer and ended up with wet, slightly twisted hair.
Attempt two went smoother and I let them airdry for 90 minutes before pulling them out. It was closer, but my hair really holds water and they still weren’t dry. Not a full success, but my hair looked a little better!
This week I had to catch a very early plane and showered the night before. I decided to try sleeping in the curlers and really let them dry – which worked GREAT! My hair looked great the whole next day and I spent no more than 15 minutes the night before putting them in. I will be doing this more often to give my stick-straight hair more body! The photo below is from the end of a long day of travel – the curls lasted the day!
5. New Balance Zante Running Shoes
This is the second pair of New Balance shoes that I’ve fallen in love with. Last year, the HKNB shoes became my speedwork shoes until very recently (a perk of low mileage is wearing the same pair of shoes much longer!). When I got the chance to try the new Zante shoes last week, I found the replacement for my aging speedwork shoes. These bright & light shoes are my new go-to shoes for speedwork – just in time for training for the BolderBOULDER 10K! #FreshFoam
That’s all for this month! I hope you find at least one new find to try for yourself.
