A healthy smoothie inspired by a cocktail? Although that might sound strange, I think it's a great way to enjoy the flavors you like more often. This protein smoothie recipe was inspired by a cocktail I had on vacation in Belize. With that inspiration, enjoying this drink might help you feel like you're on mini vacation! The inspiration cocktail was a local special, created by the bartender on the private island. I love discovering local recipes like this when I travel and I was very lucky that the creator freely shared his recipe. He named the cocktail Anatolian Shepherd, which is the breed of one of the island dogs. While we love most dogs, the Anatolian Shepherds is special as it's a relative to the Great Pyrenees. Cherry Almond Milkshake Smoothie

During last year's #MoveHappy challenge, I shared a few smoothie recipes that were previously only available to participants. But with so many new readers here and a Spring warmth in the air, I decided it was time to pull back the curtain and share this recipe with you. And while cherry season doesn't begin until (at least) the end of April, frozen fruit is available year-round! I don't always make fancy smoothie recipes, but occasionally it's fun to spend just a few minutes creating something delicious for a post-workout treat. I've titled this a milkshake smoothie, because it is nice and thick (like my favorite type of milkshake). Simple Smoothie Recipes

I like a fancy smoothie as much as anyone, but most days my smoothies are more basic than fancy. Don't misunderstand, I still want my smoothie to taste good! It's just that basic combinations can taste fantastic, even if they don't have the elaborate recipe to go with it. If you break things down to the basics, it's pretty simple to throw a smoothie together in a few minutes after a workout. This is especially handy when you're rushing from the gym to the office - which is often the case for me. Peach Pie Smoothie

I’m writing this post from a wine bar in Manley, Australia while watching surfers (in wetsuits) catch waves across the street. ⬇️ What does your perfect camping morning view ⬇️ What does your perfect camping morning view look like?

For me, it's waking up to views like this, next to an alpine lake, snuggled in a sleeping bag with my husband and our pup. 

This was my view on Sunday morning & It was just about perfect! ⛺
OOF! Has anyone else been struggling with workouts OOF! Has anyone else been struggling with workouts recently? ⬇️

The past month (or so) has had a lot of stuff that interrupted mountain biking. It's been start & stop between travel and eye surgery - which has made cycling feel HARD!

And I'm more sore than I should be.(Thank God for yoga to help!)

But I'm staying put for a bit and will be spending some quality time on my bike. And hopefully finding time for backpacking in between.
When was the last time you spoiled yourself? ⬇️

✨ A bubble bath and a book on a weekend.
✨ Getting a new outfit that makes you feel amazing & confident
✨ Taking the vacation. Even when it doesn't seem like the "right time"

Spoiling yourself is not selfish. It's self-love.

And when you can show yourself love, you have more to give to everyone around you.

I've been very blessed to be able to take more vacations this year - which is something I love so much. My favorite self-love activity!
